Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Contacts handles data when you use its iPhone contact-cleanup, backup, restore, and optional Google Contacts sync features. Google Contacts access begins only after you choose a Google sync direction and authorize the requested permission.

Google user data we access

Depending on the sync direction you choose, Contacts accesses:

Google contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, organization names, and job titles.
Google contact resource identifiers, used temporarily to distinguish contacts during a sync preview.
An OAuth access token and, if Google issues one, a refresh token and the granted scope list.

The app does not request Google profile, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Photos, or advertising data. It requests contacts.readonly when copying missing Google contacts to the iPhone and contacts when copying missing iPhone contacts to Google.

How we use Google user data

Read the selected Google address book and compare it with contacts on the device.
Show a preview of missing and matching contacts before any copy operation.
Copy missing Google contacts to the iPhone when you confirm that direction.
Create missing Google contacts from selected iPhone contacts when you confirm the reverse direction.

Contacts does not overwrite or delete existing Google contacts through the Google sync feature.

Storage, protection, and analytics

Raw Google contact data is processed in app memory and is not uploaded to or stored on AKRO-in. servers. Contacts you choose to copy to the iPhone are stored in the iOS Contacts database under Apple’s device security controls. OAuth refresh tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Data is transmitted directly between the app and Google over HTTPS.

We may collect operational event metadata such as the chosen sync direction, success or failure, and counts of contacts compared or copied. This analytics data does not include contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, organization fields, contact identifiers, OAuth tokens, or the contents of a user’s address book. It is used to maintain and improve the user-facing feature.

Sharing and transfer

We do not sell Google user data. We do not share raw or aggregated Google user data with data brokers, advertisers, lending providers, or other third parties. Contact data is transferred only between the user’s device and Google as necessary to perform the sync direction the user selected. Limited, non-contact operational analytics metadata may be processed by our analytics service provider.

Retention and deletion

Raw Google contact data is retained in memory only while preparing or applying the current sync and is discarded when that operation or app session ends. The OAuth refresh token remains in the iOS Keychain so the app can reconnect without asking you to authorize every time. You can delete that credential by uninstalling Contacts or revoke the app’s access at any time from your Google Account’s third-party connections page.

Contacts copied to the iPhone remain in the iOS Contacts database until you delete them. Contacts created in Google remain in Google Contacts until you delete them there. Revoking access or uninstalling the app does not automatically delete contacts you previously chose to copy.

Advertising and AI/ML

Google user data is not used for advertising, audience targeting, creditworthiness, lending, or surveillance. Raw or aggregated Google user data is not used to develop, improve, or train general AI or machine-learning models and is not transferred to third-party AI services for model training. Contacts’s Google sync feature does not use AI processing.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Contacts’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your choices and contact

Google sync is optional. If you do not authorize it, the related Google sync direction remains unavailable and the app’s other contact-cleanup features can still be used. For privacy questions or deletion assistance, email support@akro-in.si.
