Privacy Policy

Contacts · AKRO-in. d.o.o. · Effective October 13, 2026

This policy explains how the Contacts iPhone app (“Google Contacts Sync” on the App Store) handles data when you clean up, back up, restore, and sync your contacts. The app is published by AKRO-in. d.o.o., which is responsible for your data under this policy. In short: your contacts stay on your iPhone. They leave the device only when you choose a feature that needs it, such as Google sync or finding public profile photos, and we never store them on our servers.

Contacts on your iPhone

With your permission, the app reads your iPhone contacts to find duplicates, empty fields, and other cleanup suggestions, and to make the changes you confirm. This processing happens on your device. We do not upload your address book to our servers, and we do not sell or share it.

Backups and exports

Backups you create are saved as vCard files inside the app on your iPhone. Like other app data, they may be included in your own iCloud or computer backups of the device. A backup or export leaves the app only if you share it yourself, for example through the share sheet. You can delete backups in the app at any time, and they are removed when you delete the app.

Finding profile photos

If you choose Find Avatars, the app looks up public profile photos for the contacts you selected:

These requests go directly from your iPhone to those services, which handle them under their own privacy policies. You preview the photos first, and any you accept are saved only to your contacts on your device. Nothing from this lookup is stored by us.

Google Contacts sync (optional)

Google access begins only after you choose a sync direction and approve it with Google. Depending on the direction, the app accesses:

The app does not request Google profile, Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Photos, or advertising data. It requests contacts.readonly when copying missing Google contacts to the iPhone and contacts when copying missing iPhone contacts to Google. It uses this data only to compare your Google and iPhone contacts, show you a preview, and copy the missing contacts you confirm. It does not overwrite or delete existing Google contacts.

Data moves directly between your iPhone and Google’s People API over HTTPS. Google contact data is kept in app memory only while a sync is being prepared or applied. The refresh token is stored in the iOS Keychain so you don’t have to sign in each time. To disconnect, remove Contacts from your Google Account’s third-party connections page; the app then stops accessing your Google contacts and deletes its stored token the next time it tries to use it.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have Premium. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history from Apple, but no contact data.

Analytics and crash reports

We use Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. They receive usage events (such as which features were opened, how many contacts were selected, and whether an action succeeded), crash reports, device and app version details, and a random app-instance identifier. They never receive contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact details, and they do not receive OAuth tokens. We also use Firebase App Check to confirm that requests come from the genuine app.

No tracking or ads

The app shows no ads, does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not sell data, and we do not use contact data or Google user data for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or training AI models.

Feedback and support

If you send feedback or report a problem in the app, we receive your message, your email address if you enter one, and basic diagnostics: app and iOS version, device model, language setting, the number of contacts on the device (never their contents), and your Premium status with its anonymous purchase IDs. The message is delivered to us by email. We use it only to answer you and fix issues, and delete it when it is no longer needed.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Contacts’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not shared with third parties except as needed to provide the sync you requested, and is not used to develop, improve, or train general AI or machine-learning models.

Retention and deletion

Your contacts and backups stay on your iPhone until you delete them. Contacts copied to Google stay in Google Contacts until you delete them there. Deleting the app removes its backups and settings, but does not delete contacts you previously chose to copy. Analytics and crash data are kept for a limited period by Firebase, and support messages only as long as needed to help you. To ask us to delete anything we hold, email us.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

If you are in the EU or a similar jurisdiction, you can ask to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you, and object to or restrict its use. We process data to provide the features you request and, for analytics and crash reports, based on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working well. You may also complain to your local data protection authority; in Slovenia, that is the Information Commissioner.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. For privacy questions or requests, email support@akro-in.si.
